Data transfer

Move from your Excel files to Jewely Retail

Are you managing your jewelry store with Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets or another spreadsheet and looking to switch to management software? We review the files you send us (Excel, CSV or Google Sheets) to determine which data can be transferred to Jewely Retail and how the migration will be carried out.

Microsoft and Excel are trademarks of the Microsoft group. Google Sheets is a trademark of Google LLC. Jewely HBJO is not affiliated with any of these companies. These names are used to identify the file formats concerned.

Transferring your data

What data can be transferred?

Depending on how your files are organized and how consistently they have been maintained, the transfer may cover:

  • Customer records and their contact details.
  • The item catalog: references, descriptions, brands, purchase and selling prices.
  • Stock and its distribution by store.
  • Suppliers.
  • Sales or after-sales service histories, when they have been kept in your files.

When your files are consistently structured, their data can be imported directly. Otherwise, it can be entered manually by our team. The scope is defined after analysis of your files and specified before the migration begins.

Preparing your files

We provide you with our file templates to make preparing your data easier. A few principles also make the transfer more direct:

  • One row per item or customer, one column per piece of information.
  • No merged cells or subtotals in the middle of lists.
  • One file or one tab per data type.
  • A copy of your original files, kept on your end.

Your files don't follow these principles? We review them as they are.

Let's review your files

Let's discuss your current files, the data to be transferred, and your timeline. We can then define the scope and terms of your transition to Jewely Retail.
